Unclaimed money waits in Edgecombe County North Carolina

Edgecombe County Clerk of Superior Court Carol Allen White said her office is trying to find the rightful owners of about $19,503 in unclaimed property, money and funds being held by her office.

“If satisfactory proof of claim is not presented by Oct. 1, the law requires us to submit the money to the N.C. Treasurer’s office. After we send the money to the state treasurer’s office, the rightful owners will have to contact Raleigh to get their money back.”

White said the missing owners of the money are: John James Bailey; Richard Brake, estate of Eddie Brake; Thomas Franklin Britt; Antonio Maurice Brown; Yolanda W. Bullock; Capital Bonding Corp.; Carrie A. DeWolf; Fields Funeral Home; Betsy Peele Flores; Darnel Fox; Tadeusz Gorzkowski; Irene E. Grogan; Tylisha Hunter; Diane Cruz Hurtado; Shermayne S. Johnso; Martis A. King.

Also, Sara F. Levy; Bobby Louis Phillips; Patricia A. Smith; Tarboro Jewelry & Pawn; estate of Ella M. Vines; Terrence T. Vines; Gaston Wade Warren; Gary R. Whitehurst; Monique Woodard; Cathy Blue; estate of Hazel C. Briley; C&M Tire; estate of Catherine E. Freeman; Thelma Fuller; Luis M. Hernandez; Teresa Stallings; Lonnie D. Stancil; and Terry Thomas White.
