Mississippi man finds a windfall with unclaimed property

About 25 years ago Jimmy Sparks, a Vietnam veteran, returned to the United States and found work with Lowe’s in Jackson, Mississippi.

Receiving the call from out of state, Jimmy’s first thought was possibly a speeding ticket. Much to his surprise however, he was informed that the State of Mississippi was holding 14,480 shares of Lowe’s stock in his name and the current worth is about $950,000.
Just that quick Jimmy went from collecting disability benefits to a status just shy of a millionaire. He said he was still pinching himself.
