According to Missouri State Treasurer, Clint Zweifel, police and fire departments in Missouri are among those who are owed unclaimed property or money. The state of Missouri currently is holding on to $700 million in unclaimed money, which belongs to 4.3 million account holders.

According to the Gazettenet.com, Massachusetts is holding over $45 million in unclaimed dollars for Hampshire county alone. This is not an uncommon thing for most states in the United States. According to Caettenet.com, one in 10 people in Hampshire County, which means 70,244 property owners, are owed unclaimed assets of $100 or more!
There are more than 1,200 property owners in Hampshire County have unclaimed funds ranging from $2,500 to $60,000!
The Massachusetts State Treasurer, Steve Grossman, has been releasing names of unclaimed property and money owners in hopes people will come forward to claim their unclaimed money.

The Great Iowa Treasure Hunt has hit Plymouth County attempting to return unclaimed money. The Great Iowa Treasure Hunt has officially hit the cities of Plymouth County on Monday, June 18th, with lists of unclaimed money owners published in the local newspapers.
Plymouth County is currently sitting on over $350,000 in unclaimed property. State Treasurer, Michael Fitzgerald, is determined to return this money back to Plymouth residents.
The most common forms of unclaimed money currently being held in Iowa is unclaimed savings and checking accounts, stocks, un-cashed checks, and life insurance policies.

According to the Coshocton Tribne, the list of dormant unclaimed funds was released to the public Tuesday, June 12th in Coshocton County, Ohio. Currently, there are 301 accounts who are owed over $77,650 in unclaimed funds. This list included those who had $50 or more. These funds are currently being held by the Ohio Department of Commerce Division of Unclaimed Funds.
