Reported on the Nebraska Radio Network, the Nebraska Unclaimed Property Division is setting up Unclaimed Property booths at the state fair. At these Unclaimed Property booths, people will be able to search for their unclaimed or lost money, and be assisted in the claiming process, by filling out the paperwork, and submitting the completed work to the booth attendants.
Nebraska State Treasurer, Don Stenberg, notes that the State Treasury is currently holding $100 million in unclaimed funds, that belongs to 350,000 present or former Nebraska residents.

According to La Times, more than 50,000 musicians are owed unclaimed money. SoundExchange is a non-profit group and collects royalties on behalf of artists. They recently reported having $31 million that remains unclaimed from over 50,000 musicians. These amounts range from $10-$10,000 per group, sources said.
Some of the more notable musicians who are owed some of these unclaimed funds are Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch, Joaquin Phoenix, and The Smith Westerns. These royalties mainly come from website such as Pandora, IheartRadio, and Sirus XM.

According to KATC, Louisiana is about to receive $2.5 million in unclaimed tax refunds on Friday. This unclaimed money will be added to the already high, unclaimed property pile, amounting to more than $500 million.

According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, Nevada received a record-setting high of $97 million in unclaimed property funds to add to the State Treasury.
These funds were accumulated throughout the fiscal year, but were released to the state in August. The money came from abandoned bank accounts, unclaimed utility deposits, payroll checks, safety deposit boxes, and many more sources.

Illinois is holding an unclaimed money event in Downers Grove, Illinois to help return the unclaimed money back to the owners. The event will be held at the Main Street Train Station from 9:30am to 1pm on Saturday, August 18th. The staff at the event will conduct on the stop unclaimed money searches for whoever shows up, along with assist in filling out the application for claiming the money back.

Missouri is experiencing a large amount of unclaimed funds with the state treasury. All the renowned state treasuries are aware of the problem of unclaimed or lost funds. Similarly, the Missouri unclaimed property pile touches an alarming figure of $600 million. In comparison to the growth rate of Missouri unclaimed funds, the reclaim rate is pretty low, which is a big cause of concern for the state agencies.
