Santa Ana, CA (PRWEB) December 20, 2005 — The Whittier Women’s and Children’s Crisis Shelter received a pledged donation of seven unclaimed money accounts. The team from www.cashunclaimed.com contacted people who didn’t even know they were owed money and asked if they would donate the missing funds to the shelter. Of the seven accounts that were donated, one of the donators was CashUnclaimed.com founder Bill McIntosh, who found out that he himself was owed property.
Judy Gordon, Executive Director for the shelter, said, “We house over 300 clients per year, and about 70 percent are children. The shelter provides food, clothing, toiletries, legal assistance and anything else the families need to get through this time. We are in need of everything including monetary donations, volunteers, house wares and gifts for the families. The shelter also provides rent-free living for the families for a year after they leave the shelter.
The team at the Women’s and Children’s Shelter are changing lives. Gordon stated an alarming one in three women will experience domestic abuse some time in their life. With so many women and children in need, most people would like to give to such a wonderful cause, especially at this time of year, but may not have the money to do so.
An estimated $25 billion of unclaimed property is sitting unbeknownst to owners of the property, while many women and children in shelters are going without this Christmas. Therefore, in the spirit of spreading joy and love for the holidays CashUnclaimed.com is encouraging all companies and Americans to search for their unclaimed money or unclaimed property and donate the funds to their favorite charity. Or they can donate to the Women’s and Children’s Crisis Shelter and help give these families a great Christmas.
The Web site CashUnclaimed.com allows people to do a free unclaimed money search by searching for their name. The database has unclaimed property and missing funds owed to millions people. Finding these funds will make a better Christmas for your family or, if you are already blessed this Christmas, could be a much needed donation for a less fortunate family.
