Massachusetts Returns $84 Million in Unclaimed Property
Thursday, July 12th, 2012According to Massachusetts State Treasurer, Steven Grossman, the state treasury was able to return $84 million in unclaimed property during the 2012 fiscal year. This was a 10% increase from the 2011 fiscal year for unclaimed property returns.
Grossman is doing everything he can to make sure all the money goes back to its owners. There is no time limit to claim the money or property the state is holding on to, and in most cases, claimants will receive interest.
