Tuesday, December 13th, 2011

In today’s news, the state of Massachusetts has auctioned off enough unclaimed property to collect over $400,000 in funds collected from the property sold. The month-long auction raised 52% more funds than the appraised value of the unclaimed items.

This is not the first time Massachusetts has actioned off unclaimed property; it is the 7th time the state has used eBay to help sold part of the unclaimed property problem. However, this current auction proved to be a success as only 40 items were not sold.

If anyone can prove any of these sold unclaimed items are theirs, the state will give the owner the full sale price for the items.
