San Diego Residents: Find Your Unclaimed Cash

Reported today in the San Diego Business Journal, San Diego county has around 800 unclaimed cash accounts, which amounts to $200,000. San Diego State Treasurer, Dan McAllister, has been working hard to return the unclaimed money to it’s owners.

These funds are from anyone who has done business with any county department in the past 3 years, and are overpayments. The majority of the money is property tax refunds, and the remaining is from refunds by various county departments.

San Diego State Treasurer is hoping the owners will come forward to claim the money by September 14th. After the deadline, the unclaimed money is transferred to the general funds.
