Over $41,000 Uncashed Checks Cancelled
Shawnee County in Kansas recently cancelled over $41,000 worth in uncashed checks. These checks are seen to be only a small fraction of the total amount of uncashed checks.
The government believes the main reason for the existence of uncashed checks are due to changes in address, without notifying the proper authorities.
These checks can be re-issued at a cost of $10, and investigation by the government, before the checks can be re-issued.
