In a recent story from CNN, there is an unclaimed lottery jackpot that is set to expire worth $10.75 million. The winner has until today, 4pm, to claim it.

The ticket was bought in Des Moines, Iowa. Some Iowa resident is a lucky person if they can find their ticket and claim this huge unclaimed lottery jackpot.

If this money remains unclaimed, the money would go back into lottery, and Iowa would get about $1.3 million if this goes unclaimed.

In yesterday’s news, a lawyer, Thomas Bielinski, has been charged of unclaimed money fraud, stealing over $540,000 from the Milwaukee County Clerk. Bielinski’s court date was set to be yesterday, however he failed to show up. There is currently a warrant out for his arrest.

This is not the first time Bielinski has been caught with unclaimed money theft. Back in 2007, he was charged with theft of a $10,000 bond.

Unclaimed money is now being scammed. Recently, a Texas woman was sent to federal prison for scamming unclaimed money, and taking the identities of those who are owed unclaimed money. Taking the identities of others, and scamming money is a federal crime, and she will be serving 57 months in federal prison.

It is unknown how much money she scammed from the real owners of unclaimed money. However, she got away with it for so long since these owners did not know the money existed.
